Sent for trowel : a black sheep

Transcript

John Wilson (40), metal turner, was indicted for, and pleaded guilty to, stealing four brick trowels and a pair of pincers, together of the value of 6s.6d., the property of Ernest Peck, of St Albans, on or about June 3rd.

Mr Grubbe prosecuted, and prisoner, against whom there was previous convictions and who was described as the ‘black sheep’ of a respectable family, was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour.
