Convicted for damaging holly trees on countess' estate

At Hertford County Sessions  Peter Plumb, of St John Street, Hertford being summoned for the malicious damage to holly trees, to the extent of 1s. 6d., the property of Countess Cowper, on the 19th December 1912.    

He pleaded guilty.   

PC Dean stated that in consequence of complaints about people breaking holly trees, he watched some trees on the Countess Cowper’s estate and saw the defendant up a holly tree and breaking off some of the branches.

Peter Plumb was fined 10 shillings including costs, or in default he would have to serve seven days’ imprisonment.
