For the chop - felony at Hoddesdon

Transcript

William Humberstone, of Amwell Street, Hoddesdon, was charged with stealing a piece of wood on the 28th ult.

PC Hunt stated that early on the morning of the 28th he saw the prisoner in Mr Aldridge’s yard rolling up a piece of wood in a sack. Witness asked for an explanation, and he then said he picked it up near the gateway. Prisoner pleaded guilty,  and was fined 7s.6d.
