The Windmill, Aspenden

Hertfordshire Mercury, 14th July 1906

Transcrit

Mr G.H. Gisby, who appeared for the Licensing Justices, said this was one of the houses which were referred to the Committee last year but not dealt with. The number of public houses in Buntingford was much in excess of the requirements of the neighbourhood.

Supt Duke said there was one public-house to every 23 adults of the population. The house in question was immediately opposite the Retreat, which was a home for inebriates.

The renewal was refused.
