At Ware Petty Sessions Thomas Saunders (42), a maltmaker, of 13 Priory Street, Ware, was summoned for being drunk and disorderly at Priory Street on May 8. He pleaded guilty.
P.C. Bignell said that on the date in question about 9.40 p.m. he went to a disturbance in Priory Street caused by the defendant, who was shouting and was drunk. He took the defendant home, but he came out again, and as he would not be quiet the witness took him into custody, and he was admitted to bail the following morning.
The defendant, who said it was the first time he had been in court, and he was ashamed of himself, was fined 5 shillings.
