At Hertford Borough Sessions Thomas Prime, of Hertford Heath, was summoned for being drunk and disorderly at Hertford on June 26. P.C. Pitcher said that on the date in question he saw the defendant near the Town Hall very drunk. He was using bad language and threw his arms about and insulted persons who were passing. As he would not go away, the witness had to take him into custody. The defendant : ‘I have signed the pledge and given up drink.’ Fined 7s. 6d.
