John Cooper of Millers Yard, a navvy, was summoned for being found drunk in Bengeo Street on the 4th March. He pleaded guilty.

Pc Winchester said he saw the defendant lying across the road drunk. He took him to the Police Station, where he was detained for the night. The witness added that he had to carry the defendant (who was of small stature) on his arm.

The defendant was fined 5 shillings.
