Brothers will be brothers

Hertfordshire Mercury, 18th July 1914

At Hertford County Sessions, Jobey Brinkley, of no fixed abode, was charged with being drunk and disorderly, at Hertford Heath, on 21st June.

PC Gatehouse said that on 21st June, a Sunday, he had been on duty in Hertford Heath when he had seen the defendant, who had wanted to fight his brother.  He had used bad language and had said that he would not be locked up for nothing.  PC Gatehouse had followed the defendant, who had had a knife in his hand, around the fairground, until he finally arrested him.

The Bench fined the defendant 10 shillings, including costs, or in default, 7 days.
