At Ware Petty Sessions, Mabel Heritage, of High Street, Stanstead Abbotts, was summoned for being found drunk in the village on July 24. She pleaded guilty. PC Frogley said he saw a crowd in the street and the defendant was clinging to some railings. She was helplessly drunk, and he took her home and placed her in the care of her mother. It was the defendant’s first offence, and she was put under the Probation Officer’s care for twelve months, and ordered to pay the costs, 4 shillings.
