A drunken Belgian

At Hertford Borough Sessions on Saturday, Jean Baptiste Clymans, a labourer, living at 4 Spencer Street, who appeared before the bench with a black eye, was charged with being drunk;  he admitted the offence.

PC Green stated that on Friday October 1st, he saw the defendant in Railway Street at approximately 7.45 pm. Mr Clymans was drunk and very excited.  He was causing a disturbance and the officer tried to get him away but he would not go and subsequently Ps Green took him into custody.

Mr Clymans was fined 2s. 6d.
