Petty Sessions – William Gray, tailor, of Hitchin, was charged with being drunk and disorderly on the highway at Hitchin on December 24th, and also of assaulting P.c. Robinson. He admitted both offences. The evidence of the Constable was to the effect that Gray was drunk and disorderly late at night while playing an instrument in a band, and while efforts were made to get him to go away quietly he struck and kicked the complainant. In the first charge a fine of 2s.6d with 6s.6d. was imposed, and in the second £1 with 10s. 6d. costs.
