Drunk in charge

At Cheshunt Petty Sessions James Smith, of Lea Bridge Road, Clapton, carman, was charged with being drunk in charge of a pair of horses and trolley, at Waltham Cross, on July 5.  P.C. Green stated that on the day in question he saw a pair horse trolley standing unattended outside the Conservative Club.  On the piece of ground adjacent to the club he saw the prisoner asleep.  He roused him, and found him under the influence of drink.  He took him into custody.  Fined 10s. 6d., or seven days.
