No lights

Hertfordshire Mercury, 7th August 1915

At Ware Petty Sessions James Brown, hay carter, of Little Hadham, was summoned for having no lights on his cart.  P.c. Gray said that on July 6 he was at Hunsdon at 10.45 p.m. when he saw the defendant with a wagon and two horses.  He had no light, and explained that he could not get a candle.  The defendant did not appear, and he was fined 9 shillings.
