At Bishop’s Stortford Police Court on Friday, Lady Irene June Butler, 17, was fined 40 shillings for moving a dog from Barnstable, Devon, where there was a case of rabies. She obtained a permit to take the dog to Bishop’s Stortford where her mother, the Marchioness of Carrick, was staying, to be treated by a veterinary surgeon, but took it to London and kept it at West Kensington for some days.
Could the dog have been rabid ?
