At Cheshunt Petty Sessions Ernest Martin, of Amwell Street, Hoddeson, was summoned for driving a horse and cart without a light at 11.15 on July 5 at Cheshunt.  He was further summoned for not having a rear red lamp, and also for not having proper control of the horse and cart at the same time and place.  P.c Green proved the facts.  The defendant admitted having no lights on, but he denied that when stopped, he was asleep.  The defendant was fined 10 shillings, inclusive, for not having lights on the cart, and the summons for not having proper control was dismissed.
