Iveco - Tactical Support Vehicle - AE04WPW

Richard Liversidge

The Firearms Team’s Tactical Support Vehicle or ‘TSV’ was a mobile armoury and equipment platform specifically designed in force to equip on-call Firearms Officers at the scene of an armed incident. An officer on duty or the nearest responding officer driving the vehicle to the RVP. The vehicle carried a range equipment including weapons, medical equipment, ballistic shields, ladders and lighting to provide options in resolving armed threats. The vehicle was referred to as ‘Matilda’!

Delivered in 2004, it was removed from service some years later on the force’s collaboration with Bedfordshire Police. (Photos courtesy of Duncan Grieves – core to the vehicles design).
