He deserved the judgement for assaulting his wife, again

At Hitchin, John Thomas Day (47), of Crispin Terrace, Hitchin, was fined £3 and bound over for 12 months in the sum of £10, at the Sessions on Tuesday, for assaulting his wife on May 29th.

Superintendent Reed said that a separation order had been granted to the wife seven or eight years ago, but the parties had since lived together again.

The defendant had been fined £1 in August last for assaulting his wife then.
