Harry Smith (16) was charged with an offence against Winifred Wool, a girl under 13 years of age, on April 27th, at Aldenham.
John Chapman (15) was charged with an offence against Constance Winifred Smith, a girl under 13, in October,1906 at Elstree.
Mr Murphy appeared to prosecute and Mr Fordham defended.
Chapman was ordered 20 strokes of the birch rod, and the judge suggested to Mr Smith’s father that he should administer the same punishment to his lad, as he (his Lordship) had no power to order it, the lad being over age, and he did not want to send him to prison. The father promised to do so.
