You're out of time, my lord !

Hertfordshire Mercury, 1st August 1914

Transcript

At Ware Petty Sessions, The Right Honourable the Marquess of Cholmondeley, of the Turf Club, Piccadilly, was summoned for driving a motor-car without a licence, on 19th July, at Stanstead Abbotts.  The defendant admitted the offence.

Police Constable Bavister said that, on 19th July, owing to an accident having happened at Stanstead Abbotts, he had asked the defendant for his licence but found that it had expired on 25th June.  The defendant said that it was quite a mistake because he thought it had been taken out in the July of the previous year instead of the June.

The defendant was fined 5 shillings, with costs.
