Two police officers who saw a stationery car in the middle of Hollybush Lane , Welwyn Garden City , at 2 a.m. on January 26 looked into the car and saw the driver at the wheel , apparently asleep.
This was stated at Welwyn Sessions on Friday , when the driver , Douglas Robertson , 36-year-old engineer, of Astwick Farm , Hatfield , was fined £2 for causing the car to be left in a dangerous position .
Constable Askew said the car was opposite the junction with Hunters Way.
Told of the position the car was in , Robertson replied, ” Oh, all right “
Sergt. Day said he asked Robertson why the car was in the middle of the road and Robertson replied ” I am not in the main road.”
