In the photograph, which was probably taken in early 1922 at Police Headquarters at Hatfield, is the 25th Probationer Class who had as their Instructor Sergeant 280 George Thomas Sharp.

General Order 71 of the 6th June 1922 announced that seven Recruit Constables having been brought on to the Roster, would be transferred from Headquarters to Divisions for duty. This was followed by General Order 81 of the 26th June 1922 which altered some of the postings. Those pictured are:

Back Row left to right:

1.    PC 143 Sidney Charles Reeves was born on the 5th August 1899 and served between the 27th December 1921 and the 14th November 1949. He was first posted to E Division at Stevenage, but it was changed to C Division at Watford. He died on the 10th January 1979.

2.    PC 177 Frank Alexander Turner was born on the 2nd September 1900 and served between the 27th December 1921 and the 1st November 1952. He was first posted to E Division at Hitchin, but it was changed to C Division at Watford. He died on the 17th November 1963.

3.    Unidentified Constable.

4.    PC 161 Samuel James Wackett was born on the 6th July 1897 and served between 1921 and 1925. He was first posted to C Division at Watford, but it was changed to B Division at Ayot St. Lawrence. He died in 1976.

5.    PC 225 Frederick Charles Sargeant was born on the 6th July 1900 and served between the 27th December 1921 and the 31st December 1950. He was first posted to E Division at Hitchin. He died on the 23rd October 1982.

Front Row left to right:

1.    PC 227 J. Paterson served between 1921 and 1924. He was first posted to C Division at Watford, but it was changed to B Division at Codicote.

2.    Instructor Sergeant 280 George Thomas Sharp.

3.    PC 48 Frederick Vere Warren was born on the 3rd July 1902 and served between 1921 and 1929. He was first posted to C Division at Watford.
