Upson down

Hertfordshire Mercury, 18th May 1907

While a boy named Charles Upson, of 2 New Street, was trying to pass a cart on Monday evening on a bicycle, his back brake would not act and he ran on the path and then crashed into a gate post at the entrance of Tipple’s Yard. He unfortunately cut his left eye and broke his left arm. P.C. Berry rendered first-aid, and the lad was afterwards attended by Dr Burnett.
