Police in Hertford creatively followed up a number of complaints about damage caused by catapults in Hertford. Officers made a raid on three schools in the town on Thursday 29 November 1900 and with a little help from the headmasters and the appearance of “a Man in Blue” the boys handed in a hefty haul of 70 catapults.
