In the photograph, which was taken in 1924 at Police Headquarters at Hatfield, is a Probationer Class who had as their Instructors Sergeant 280 George Thomas Sharp and Constable 41 William Stanley Flower.
General Order 201 of the 8th December 1924 announced that ten Recruit Constables having been brought on to the Roster, would be transferred from Headquarters to Divisions for duty. Those pictured are:
Back Row left to right:
1. PC 17 Ernest Sidney Stone was born on the 13th January 1898 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 31st July 1958. He was first posted to D Division at Hemel Hempstead. He died on the 21st August 1958.
2. PC 70 George Pryce was born on the 31st March 1898 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 14th March 1952. He was first posted to E Division at Hitchin. He died on the 14th March 1952.
3. PC 124 Hubert Walter Dixon was born on the 29th July 1904 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 28th March 1951. He was first posted to B Division at Hoddesdon. He died on the 28th February 1967.
4. PC 227 Frank Stanley Erridge was born on the 24th March 1903 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 4th August 1954. He was first posted to D Division at Great Berkhamsted. He died in 1989.
5. PC 207 William Frederick Limbrick was born on the 15th February 1903 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 23rd August 1950. He was first posted to D Division at Harpenden. He died in 1992.
6. PC 30 Edwin James Sayell was born on the 2nd March 1904 It is believed that he served from 31st July 1924 but it is unknown when he left. He was first posted to E Division at Baldock. He died on the 2nd August 1980.
7. PC 305 P. T. (possibly Percy Thomas) Adams. It is believed that he served from 31st July 1924 but it is unknown when he left. He was first posted to B Division at Hertford.

1. PC 294 Joseph Arnold was born on the 18th February 1902 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 23rd September 1953. He was first posted to A Division at Bishops Stortford. He died on the 14th November 1959.
2. Instructor Constable 41 William Stanley Flower.
3. Instructor Sergeant 280 George Thomas Sharp.
4. PC 114 Percy Arthur Perry was born on the 2nd January 1899 and served between the 31st July 1924 and the 2nd August 1954. He was first posted to B Division at Hatfield. He died on the 18th August 1972.
5. PC 216 Victor Jefferies Childs was born on the 4th May 1903 and it is believed that he served between the 31st July 1924 until after 1939. He died on the 19th October 1996.
