In a case brought by a moneylender for recovery of money lent, Mr Justice Lawrence said: “This prejudice against moneylenders is ridiculous. Either they ought to be abolished or they ought to be treated as human beings. I can see no evidence that any inducement had been held out to the defendant to borrow, except the fact that the moneylender was quite a good-looking woman”.
What an inducement !
