Take Cover!

In December 1914, the German naval fleet staged a lightning strike on Scarborough and people were completely taken by surprise.  However, it wasn't until January 1915, that the first air raid took place in Britain.  This was a  terrifying prospect for civilians who had previously understood war was something which happened far from home.
