At Hertford Borough Sessions, Silas R. Smith, of Star Street, Ware, was summoned for shouting in the street at Bengeo, on July 7. The defendant pleaded guilty. P.C. Winchester said he saw the defendant in Nelson Street, carrying some vegetables and fruit, and shouting at the top of his voice. The witness kept him under observation for a quarter of an hour. He had cautioned the defendant previously about the same thing, but he said he had to shout to get a living. Fined 5 shillings or seven days.
