Hooting and yelling

At Ware Petty Sessions on Tuesday, Benjamin Ballinger, of High Oak Road, Ware, was summoned for hooting and yelling at Ware on March 30th. P.C. Frogley stated that at 11 p.m. on March 30th he heard the defendant and two others shouting at the top of their voices on New Road. When he went towards them they ran away up High Street and there commenced shouting again. He pursued them and caught the defendant in Church Passage. The others got away. The defendant refused his name and address, witness took him to the police station, where he afterwards gave his name.  The defendant denied that he shouted and said his mates were worse than he was.  A fine of 1 shilling and 5 shillings cost was imposed.
