At Cheshunt Petty Sessions, Leonard Wingerath (25), a hairdresser, a German subject residing at 169 St Thomas’s Road, Finsbury Park, was charged with travelling more than five miles from his place of work on the 7th of September.

Police Sergeant Walter Bowden said that he had heard that there was a German stranger in the district and, upon calling at ‘The Laurels’, Goffs Oak, found the defendant who stated that he had applied for a permit at Highbury.

The Bench fined the defendant £3 or 1 month’s imprisonment.
