    Whyman, William Henry, MM, 319, Constable
    On the outbreak of WW1 he joined the 5th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment. He fought at Gallipoli and in Egypt and Palestine being promoted to Colour Sergeant and awarded the Military Medal. On being demobbed he joined the Hertfordshire Constabulary and was commended 3 times by the St. Albans Coroner.

    Albert Prentice fought in World War1. When he was demobilised he joined the Hertford County Constabulary in 1920 and served until 1945. With the help of his daughter his life story has been written giving many insights as to how he and his family lived, from the early days at Watford, being awarded the 1937 Coronation Medal, promotion to Sergeant and WW2.
