Hertfordshire Mercury, 21st September 1918
PC William John Reynolds, who has been employed at the Headquarters of the Hertfordshire Constabulary at Hatfield for the past 11 years, has been discharged from the force as medically unfit for further police service.
He is the son of ex-Supt W Reynolds, of Hertford, who retired on pension in 1909 after 29 years’ service, and the grandson of ex-DCC John Reynolds who left the force in 1911 after 51 years’ service, so that the three men, all of whom are alive, have served the County for 91 years.
