From: Supt Wood To: All Stations Found drowned in a ballast hole at Batchworth, Rickth. This day at 10 am, a man, unknown, age 40 to 45, length 5 feet 10, hair brown, eyebrows & Â moustache inclined sandy, stout build. (Dress black serge jacket, cord waistcoat, pearl buttons, fustian trousers, heavy lavc boots nearly new, grey worsted stockings, blue, red & white striped shirt, white flannel undershirt, both nearly new, ordinary elastic braces, leather belt , brass buckle, black & white handkerchief in pocket. Found in his possession, cash 1/8, 2 old coins, 1 wooden pipe, and old metal tobacco box, 2 old pocket knives, I comb, one real [reel] of grey thread.Police officer
