At 5.50 am this morning near the corn exchange, I saw a horse and cart running away up Bridge Street & turned toward the Market Square where the cart turned over, & I stopped the horse & found it belonged to Shorter, Rye Street, Bps. Stortford & he left it outside Mr. Holland’s house in the Dunmow Road where it boulted [bolted] from & no-one was hurt.Police officer
