During enquiries into the damage to Mr Scott’s trough, PC Day found that Harold Green of Barrells Down had removed a wheel from the meadow and had hidden it in the brickfield. PC Day took possession of the wheel.

Commenced surveillance of walnut trees in St Mary’s Convent at 4am with PC249 Burns. At 6.05am saw George Brace, Bert Osborne and William Brace steal walnuts to the value of 2d, and at 7.20am saw Frederick Osborne and Percy Smith steal 37 walnuts to the value of 4d.
