    West, Denis Armitage, 274 or 991, Constable, Sergeant, Inspector, Chief Inspector, Superintendent, Chief Superintendent
    He joined Hertfordshire Constabulary in 1937 and following the outbreak of WW2 enlisted in the Durham Light Infantry, rising to the rank of Major. After being demobilised he re-joined Hertfordshire Constabulary and retired in 1969 as a Chief Superintendent.
