Jacket Thief At The Quarter Sessions
From: Officer's Journal; PC Joseph SmithOn the 20th February 1882 PC Smith travelled to Chelmsford to appear at the Quarter Sessions to be held in the Shire Hall the following day. At Court he gave evidence against John Bush who was charged with stealing a females jacket on the night of the 16th February 1882 from the house of Caroline Hudgell the property of her daughter Fanny Hudgell, The prisoner was discharged.
