Jacket Thief At The Petty Sessions
From: Officer's Journal; PC Joseph SmithPC Smith attended the Petty Sessions held in the Bishops Stortford Corn Exchange and before Magistrate Reverend F Vander-Meulen he gave evidence in the case of John Bush age 20 years of Bishops Stortford. He was charged with stealing a female jacket during the night of 16th February 1882 from the house of Caroline Hudgell of Birchanger Green it being the property of her daughter Fanny, The prisoner was committed for Trial at the Chelmsford Quarter Sessions on the 21st February.
