From: Supt Duke To: All Stations This afternoon at 3.30 a motor car came into collision with a pony & cart near Colliers End. The pony, the property of Mr Joop, High Street, Ware, was injured. The boy in charge wanted the name and address of the driver. The driver then assaulted the boy with a whipstock and some men near by went to his assistance. The motor car then went off. He states there were 4 men I the car and the man who assaulted him was an elderly man with whiskers. The car had a yellow front and he believes the lamp or some other part was broken. About 4 pm a car answering this description crossed the railway crossing at Ware & went in the direction of Hertford. I would thank you to have made enquiries as early as possible to ascertain the name and address of the driver.Police officer
