From: D.C.C To: All Stations Baldock Railway Station booking office was broken into last night, and £1 in coppers, one sovereign, several 3 penny pieces and some farthings stolen therefrom. Entrance effected by forcing the ticket slide window with a hedgehook about 5 ft long, which was left behind, blade been broken. Description of two men suspected: - 1st George Kirby, 48, 5ft 9, hair & moustache brown, dress brown clothes, & carried a sack rolled up under arm. - 2nd John Meyers, 28, % ft 5 or 6, hair brown brushed down over forehead, dress dark clothes, also carried a sack rolled up under arm. These two men applied at Royston Police Station last night for a ticket for the casual ward at Royston but did not present themselves at the workhouse. Please cause enquires to be made at casual wards and lodging houses.Police officer
