About 5:30 pm today I was on duty in South Street, Bps. Stortford & saw a grey horse & trap running away along Station Rd. & up South Street through Potters Street into North Street where it run [sic] against the wheel of Mr. Bird, Dealer of Hallingbury, Essex & broke the wheel off. I made enquiries & found the grey horse run [sic] away from the Rly. Station & it belonged to Alfred Peachey, Manuden, Essex, & no-one was hurt & both men have settled the damage done to their carts.Police officer
