From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Deputy Chief Constable to All Stations – Copy of information from Beds Constabulary. Stolen during last night at Sandy from lodgings, one silver watch no. unknown, A. Kent scratched on inside case, metal chain attached, 23/- in cash, one pair brown striped trousers & cap of same material, two drab coloured neckerchiefs the property of A. Kent, Sandy, by a man named William Hume, age 19 to 20, 5 ft 4, hair brown, scars on face & hands, dress dark grey jacket & vest, new boots, wearing stolen trousers & cap & one of the neckerchiefs, if found arrest and wire Superintendent Baldwin.
