From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Sawbridgeworth. Copy of message from Essex Police Writtle. Stolen last night by means of burglary, one dark grey town coat, one grey striped jacket, one black hard felt hat, one pair black light boots & one pair brown light boots, by two men, 1st age 50, height 5 ft 8, hair grey, dark shaggy moustache, a Scotchman, no description of 2nd man can be given who is carrying a square basket and both men are carrying handles, first man supposed to be wearing stolen coat, I have been liaised on [unreadable Ed.] Harlow today.
