From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...From Chief Clerk to All Stations – Re Agricultural Show. You will be good enough to post to the D.C.C. at Hitchin nominal roll of men for duty at Bishops Stortford for Special Duty tonight if possible enter the mens height on roll. The undermentioned men will perform Special Duty at Licensed Hostels on Requisition, C Division PC 151 Dew, 238 Peck; D Division PC 203 Reed & 147 Boarder; E PC 102 Chappell and 83 Perth [could have been misheard as PC 83 at this time was recorded as Firth Ed.] to report at Bishops Stortford Police Station at 9.45 a.m. on Tuesday the 9th June, should they have to go overnight they will report on their arrival and take instructions as to their lodgings.
