From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...[From Superintendent Wood to All Stations – continuation of previous message Ed.] Hired on the evening of 27th Sept 02 until 30th and not yet returned a Meteor Rover safety bicycle, 26 in frame, black enamel, free wheel, Howden back brake, front rim brake, Radax tyres, back brake bound with tape about 2 ins, pump clips no pump, rat trap pedals, lamp and bell, the property of Lloyd Coatley and Co Watford by a lad named H. Quibell age 17, 5 ft 3, hair dark brown, eyes dark, complexion pale, thin build, near sighted slightly cross-eyed, dressed in [unreadable Ed.] jacket suit, [unreadable Ed.] trousers, blue cap, lace up boots.
