From: Telephone message book: 11 Aug 1902 - 27...The Watford Superintendent [William Wood Ed.] circulated details of a burglary to All Stations. Stolen by means of a burglary during night of 1st Inst. from 41 Harwood Road Watford the property of Harry William Turner. 1 sovereign, 9/- in coppers all 1902, 5/- in silver, also 20 penny packets of Woodbine cigarettes, entrance effected by forcing window with a Platelayers chisel, left behind, this chisel is marked LNWR 82 and appears to have been stolen from a hut on the Rickmansworth Branch on LNW railway, a hammer marked 82 is also missing from this shed may have been stolen by a tramp.
