Further information was circulated re the German spy now said to be armed and dressed as a Boy Scout and having left Newcastle on the 26th August riding a motorcycle registration number LE2708.

Further information was circulated concerning the German spy dressed as a Scout who was seen near Amersham by Special Constables and shots were exchanged but the spy made his escape.

Details were circulated of two violent incidents. Firstly a revolver was fired at a Hitchin Constable when he tried to stop a motorcyclist in Highbury Road, fortunately they missed the Officer and the offender escaped. Secondly a Railway Signalman was attacked and left unconscious by two men armed with a knife at Northchurch.
