Class of 1967

Allan Stockwin

I attended Eynsham Hall in 1967 aged 20 years, First time away from home and a great experience although I was a touch overwhelmed by the definitions book and learning process.

I played in the Hall football team which was exceptional, we won almost every cup going. The PTI, whose name escapes me was a wonderful guy who helped me through the course wonderfully. We became good friends which I think is why he picked on me to demonstrate judo type throws etc. Very painful.

I noticed recently that an auction of Eynsham Hall goods were up for auction and I viewed same to see if any items from the sale would bring back me memories of my stay but unfortunately there were not. I was particularly interested in the framed photos the PTI had of our football team in his study.

I do have a class photo of 1967, can’t remember exact date of attendance but it must have covered the football season months. Will supply copy if asked.

I was attached to the Norfolk Constabulary stationed at North Waltham and Kings Lynn. Resigned after 20 months. A great pity but undoubtedly the best decision for both the force and myself.
