PC Smith received a report of another stolen horse this time a chestnut mare of 14 1/2 hands with a white face and a square tail with broken wind stolen during the night of 3rd August 1882 from Roydon. He made enquiries in Bishops Stortford.

Message issued to all stations re George Goddard, alias Bowcock, nickname Bowie aged 21, a bargeman, wanted for stealing fowl on night of 19th December 1904 at Ware. 5ft 5 or 6, thick set, round shouldered, dark hair, sallow complexion, clean [shaven]. [Remainder of entry illegible.]
