Councillor Nominations And Arrest Fitch
From: Officers' Journal; Robert Milton PC 160PC Milton was again tasked with putting up notices regarding the nomination for a County Councillor. Later he arrested John Fitch of Little Hadham for assault on Police and conveyed him to Much Hadham Police Station.
(Published in the Herts & Cambs Reporter & Royston Crow on Friday 22 March 1907 – Petty Sessions Saturday, before F. H. Norman, Esq. (in the chair). H. Pasteur and W. Minet, Esqs. – John Fitch, of Little Hadham, who has been remanded on bail, was charged with, assaulting P.c. Milton on the 2nd inst. The Chairman said as the defendant had been two days in prison already he would be sentenced to one day’s imprisonment, which would entitle him to be released when the Court rose. Ed.)
