From: Chief Constable Copy of message from Police, Potters Bar. Stolen by means of burglary from Inglesfield, Little Heath between 1ppm 24th and 6.30 am 25th inst., one glazier diamond; one pair of walking shoes, nearly new, size 7, ‘MacLaren Broad Street’ in gold letters inside shoes; 1 pair gents lace shoes, size 7; 1 pair ladies lace shoes, recently soled; one pair of worsted socks; one dark mixture overcoat to fir a youth. Supposed by a tramp who left old shoes and socks behind. 4 postage stamps were also taken, one torn of a letter.Police officer
